Show 1954 NAM Head. Optimistic On Year's Prospects Harold C. McClellan, 1954 president pres-ident of the National Association of Manufactures, is optimistic about general business prospects in the coming year, he said in a New Year's statment. "I do not see any prospect for a serious turn down in business generally gen-erally for the year 1954, or for any of the years in the immediate future, fu-ture, provided that two conditions are met: First, that our government govern-ment in Washington makes proper provision to balance our budget at the earliest posible moment, and secondly, that our national security," se-curity," he emphasized. "I am firmly convinced that our Administration in Washington is doing an excellent job of managing our fiscal affairs. And so it seems to me that it is up to us in industry to make the most of our opportunities opportuni-ties for the future. If we apply the same resourcefulness and ingenuity ingen-uity and courage that has been a part of building industrial America Amer-ica in the past, I believe that we can look forward to new horizons in the development of America in the future." |
