Show Springville Couple Note 50th Wedding ' Anniversary at Family Dinner Party Recalling their wedding day fifty fif-ty years ago, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Blanchard of this city marked their golden anniversary together with a family dinner Saturday evening at the home of a son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Don Blanchard. The table held a pretty centerpiece of carnations similar to that on the table for their wedding wed-ding supper 50 years ago. Earlier in the evening, a large number of neighbors called on them to extend best wishes and presented them with a beautiful gold and green silk quilt and other gifts. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Mr. and Mrs. Blanchard have lived their entire married life in Springville and for many years at their present address, 585 South Fourth East St. Mrs. Blancherd, born Sanova Swearingen, April 27, 1888 at Laclede, La-clede, Mo., came to Springville as a young girl and lived for a time with a sister and attended the Hungerford Academy. She returned return-ed to her native state and later came to Springville for her marriage mar-riage to Mr. Blanchard. He was born in Springville April 12, 1880 and spent practically his entire life here. He has followed the occupations of farming and stock raising. They were married at Snrinsr- ville March 10, 1906. Sons and daughters of the couple cou-ple are Mrs. Lois Pulsipher of Denver, Den-ver, Colo. ; Bill Blanchard and Don Blanchard of Springville; Roy Blanchard of Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Betty Smith of LaMesa, Calif., and Mrs. Velma Richmond of Salt Lake City. There are also 20 grandchildren and one great grandchild. |
