Show Funeral Services Today at 1 p.m. For Mattie Hiatt Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. in the First Ward church for Mattie Hiatt, 49, who died Monday, May 4, after a lingering illness. She was born February 19, 1904. route 1, Legrande, Oregon, and moved to Springville in 1931. She commenced school in Le-Grande Le-Grande and also attended school in Ogden, Utah, and St. Anthony, Idaho. She attended classes at the Brigham Young university and the University of Utah. She has been active in the LDS church all her life, especially in record and temple work. She has attended many genealogical classes clas-ses under A. F. Bennett. There are two books on the shelves of the genealogical library to her credit, the Provo cemetery records, and Continued on Page Two. At the time of her passing, two copies of Volume 1 of Springville records were nearly completed. She leaves her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hiatt of Springville; three sisters, Mrs. Lee Huff and Mrs Earl Packard of Springville, and Mrs. Carl E. Baum of Le-Grande, Le-Grande, Oregon.; also a host of relatives and friends, many of whom she has assisted in research and preparing family records. Friends may call at the family home today from 10 a.m. prior to services, which will be in charge of Bishop Lewis B. Childs. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery under the direction of the Claudin Funeral Home. |
