Show Plans Underway For Blood Drive January 15 Plans are going forward under supervision of the Red Cross for another drive for blood contributions, contribu-tions, according to A. L. Thorpe, Springville R. C. chairman. The drive will be launched on January 15. Mrs. Bert Cherrington, president of the Federated Women's Club Council and the PTA officers will have charge of arrangements working with locaL Red Cross officers. of-ficers. Mr. Thorpe also reports that the Springville American Legion and Auxiliary recently contributed a table model radio for the veterans hospital through the Red Cross. Contrary to some beliefs that blood given wounded soldiers, is paid for, Mr. Thorpe said that no wounded man in Korea or anywhere any-where else who may be hospitalized, hospital-ized, pays for the blood he receives. re-ceives. In any case, the Red Cross couldn't charge for it. A pint of blood may save a serviceman's life and there are few citizens who would hesitate giving a pint to save any life, he stated. Citizens are asked to plan now to give a pint of blood when the drive is made here on January 15. |
