BYU President Engaged to Speak at' DSA Banquet Scheduled January 19 Springville Jaycees this week announced an-nounced plans underway for the annual DSA award to be made at a public banquet on January 19, in the Third-Ninth ward church. Speaker of the evening will be President Ernest L. Wilkinson ' of the Brigham Young University. Kent B. Palfreyman, state Jay-cee Jay-cee vice-president, will act as chairman of the evening. Club officials announced that the customary rules will govern the selection of the outstanding young man of the city this year as in the past. He is to be not younger than 21 or older than 36; to have outstanding leadership ability as exhibited by his activity in the community the past year. Judging will be made from a list of names whose qualifications are listed on official entry blanks. Those blanks should be in very soon, according to Louis Schardine, club president and others working on the project. It is not necessary to be a member mem-ber of the Jaycee club to gain the honor, said Don Humphrey, publicity public-ity director Wednesday. There is considerable interest attached to the contest this year, because no one has the slightest idea just who will come in for the honor, he remarked. |
