Show NEWS FROM THE SCHOOLS . Grant School Second Gnu By Kiuiao Karloy Mrs. Beal's second grade from the Grant school visited the Library Li-brary during Book Week. Miss Kowland answered many questions for us. Wo had a class election. Ned Gavin is president. Bill Allred is vice-president; RaNae Earley is secretary. We are making a Thanksgiving book this week. We are making stones for the book. . Following is the one Kathleen Childs will put in the book: I "Goody, tomorrow is the day that the turkey will be killed. And that will be the end of the turkey. We will like that good turkey on .Thanksgiving Day. Bruce and I ,will like that turkey too. Ruth and Fred will like the turkey too. Grandmother and Grandfather will like the turkey too. The whole family fam-ily will like the dinner too. Grandfather Grand-father and Bruce and I are going to get the turkey. Grandpa will chop his head off and that will be the last of the turkey. Grandpa will clean the turkey, then Grandma will wash him. As Grandma gets the dinner, I will go out and play. While' I play out doors I am going to swing. Then I will go in the ; house. And then I will eat my din- ' ner. After my dinner I will ask my grandma if I can have some pumpkin pie."- . We will take them home when we are th!.eh- Uust Friday, we had a birthday Mrtv in Mrs". Wills' room. LaRae Diamond turned eight, so her mother came to school and brought us all a treat. We played the record rec-ord player and hacl a Program- . jlr Mason's room has a new w'v- He is Terry Mason, and he came from Payson. Our room is having a program for Thanksgiving Thanksgiv-ing and every student must take part in it. We wish everybody a happy Thanksgiving. Miss Lewis' .room is sponsoring a program from K.OVO for Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon. Jimmy Lawrence and Byron Jensen is bringing it to us. We will tell you next week how it turned out. Miss Smith's third grade had two grand experiences this week. We investigated how our school lunch people make some of the rood things that they serve for us each flay. On Thursday we watched watch-ed the cooks make doughnuts and fry them in the deep fat, then suar glaze them. The next morning morn-ing we watched them make cinnamon cinna-mon rolls and chili. We could hardly hard-ly wait to try how they tasted. We thank Mrs. Wright for letting us come to the kitchen. To get ready for Thanksgiving, Mrs. Oakes' class has made a Pilgrim Pil-grim village. We have homes, people, trees, a lake and many other figures to make the village on our library table. |
