Show VA Starts War Dead Benefits Payment of dividends due deceased de-ceased World War II veterans on their national service life insurance insur-ance policies began last week for beneficiaries or heirs in Utah, Colorado, Col-orado, New Mexico and Wyoming, the Salt Lake regional Veterans administration office announced Thursday. Approximately 2000 checks ranging rang-ing up to $528 were placed in the mail Thursday morning. First to receive checks will be those who are receiving monthly payments for insurance in effect at the time of the veteran's death. If payments are being .made to more than one beneficiary, the dividend will be prorated. Second group to be paid will be beneficiaries who already have received payment in full on policies. pol-icies. No applications for dividends will be necessary in the first two groups. The V. A. will establish eligibility eligi-bility and mail applications to beneficiaries of veterans whose insurance in-surance lapsed prior to their death and was not in force. |
