Show mm Hope Comes with Eastertide, GUV Comments "vVith the coming of Eastertide new faith and hope comes to the Christian World. Our minds recall the story of the first Easter Morn-ing Morn-ing when the Christ had "risen as heThedChristian faith, based as it is on love, forgiveness, and charity char-ity has been - the bulwark of strength and the haven of refuge for men of good will for neaily two thousand years. During this time nations have risen, flourished, and fallen, llie Alexander's, the Ceaser s the Czar's, the Napoleon's, the Hitler s, the Tojo's, the Mussilini's, all have quaffed the bitter dregs of their own evil vintage. The dark cloud of Communistic athieism, that now hangs over much of the civilized world, has after all its silver lining. The ungodly un-godly creed of the Russian dictators dicta-tors will yield, in time, to the force of truth, justice, and humanity. "I am come," said the Master, during His earthly mission, "that ye may have life; and that ye may have it more abundantly." The abundant life of which he spoke, was not the self-exalted existence of the frenzied dictator; but the full, rich life of the Christian Chris-tian disciple. The Communistic creed cannot long endure; for it is based on materialistic rather than humanistic human-istic ideals. The lives of human beings cannot be regarded as a means to an end; but as an end in themselves. To the millions of oppressed souls behind the shadows of the iron curtain, the dawn of Easter morning should inspire new courage cour-age and hope for ultimate deliverance. deliver-ance. The hearts of us who live in the free nations should be filled with joy and gratitude. Ours is the privilege priv-ilege and opportunity to keep alive in the souls of men the ideals of the Christian faith. Let us on this day dedicate to the Prince of Peace, remember the living words that he spoke: "I am the resurrection and the life. He that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live; ana he that liveth and believeth in Me shall never die." Peace I give unto you; My peace I give unto you. Let not your heart be troubled; neither let it be I afraid. |
