Show IKE CAUTIONS UTAHELEVEN Coach Warns Utes Against Overconfidence; Drills For B. Y. U. Plays. SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 30 After receiving a sermon from Coach Ike Armstrong on the dangers of overconfidence, the University of Utah Redskins today to-day went into their second day of preparation for the game with Brigham Young university Saturday Satur-day at the "Y" stadium. Coach Armstrong sent his powerful Utes through a scrimmage scrim-mage against the freshmen, who had been drilled in the "Y" plays and the varsity outfit made a good showing. The canny Ute coach also cautioned his charges to be alert for "any possibility" inasmuch inas-much as he has been informed that Coach Ott Romney is cooking cook-ing up something the Utah scouts have not seen for the Saturday game at Provo. Indications are that the same starting lineup which played nearly near-ly the full distance against Denver Den-ver University last Saturday, will go on the field opposite the Cougars. Coug-ars. Swede Larson, heady and versatile ver-satile quarterback, will likely start, with Sid Kramer at right halfback, Howard Levine, left halfback, and Jerry Lunnen, full-back. From left to right the line will be made up of Hoggan, end; McKenzie, tackle; Hunt, guard; Roberts, center; Atkinson, guard; Jeppson, tackle, and Swan, end. Karl Schleckman, whose showing show-ing in the D. U: game drew praise is fighting for a starting berth at right tackle and Bill Cowley, passing pass-ing expert, is considered in the running for the left halfback spot. |
