Show DEER CREEK WATERUSERS INCORPORATE Important Step Taken At Salt Lake Meeting; Articles Drawn i Articles of incorporation of! a Provo River VVaterusers association, as-sociation, empowered to negotiate nego-tiate -contracts with the U. S. reclamation bureau for the construction of the Deer Creek project, were being drafted today at a meeting of the recently appointed commit'ee j of organization. The meeting was being held at the offices of the Salt Lake City engineer in the city and county building there. Present from Provo and Utah county were I. E. Brockbank, A. V. Watkins, Abel John Evans, Lehi; J. W. Gillman, Orem. Representing Rep-resenting Salt Lake City were Fisher Harris, city attorney, and W. D. Beers, city engineer. To Name Board It was expected that a board of directors comprising at least 11 members would be named at the meeting, after the articles of incorporation had been drawn up. Following the organization of the board, action could be taken to enter into negotiations with the government to get the $2,700,000 allocated from the PWA fund into in-to immediate use. From Washington came word today that Mayor Louis Marcus of Salt Lake City had been assured by Dr. Elwood Mead, commissioner commission-er of reclamation, that as long as reasonable progress was being made, the allocations for Deer Creek would not be withdrawn or cancelled by the government. |
