Show MOTHERS AND DAUGHTERS HOLDOUTING The annual mothers and daughters daugh-ters outing of Kolob stake held at the city park was one of the outstanding socials sponsored by the stake Y. L. M. I. A. Nearly 300 mothers and daughters attended. at-tended. Despite storm threats during the afternoon the complete program pro-gram was carried out and enjoyed enjoy-ed by all present. Mrs. E. A. Bryan, 75, with four Y. L. M. I. A. daughters pnwent received an award for the oldest mother with the most M. I. A. daughters present. Mrs. 'Elva Leeks, 30, of Thistle received, the award offered to the youngest mother with the largest number of M. I. A. daughters present, she having two daughters Mutual age. Mrs. Arch Coombs of Hershey, Neb. received the award offered the daughter or mother who had come fartherest. Awards also were presented to the mother from each L. D. S. ward with the largest number of M I. A. daughters present as follows: First, Mrs. E. A. Bryan, four daughters; second, Mrs. Jane Tippetts, five daughters; third, Mrs. Lou Binks, two daughters; fourth, Mrs. Lena Maycock, two daughters; mapleton, maple-ton, Mrs. E. M. Snow, two daughters; daugh-ters; Thistle, Mrs. Elmira Underwood, Under-wood, four daughters. The awards w-ere made by Mrs. Harold Alle-man Alle-man of the stake board. President Fannie Rowland of the stake Y. W. M. I. A. presided at the opening program in which numbers were furnished by each of the wards. Community singing was led by Mrs. E. E. Knudsen. The junior girls also furnished chorus selections, selec-tions, i Under the direction of Miss Hannah Rowland, a card designed design-ed and printed by members of the junior classes, was presented to each mother present. Refreshments were served at the conclusion of th entertainment. |
