Show ; I Local I . . It will be of interest to many people of Springville to hear that Margaret Sumsion, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. LaAlle Sumsion, has been graduated from the L. D. i. Business college and accepted position with the National Credi association at Salt Lake City. To raise funds to carry on the activities, the Daughters of Ut Pioneers, Camp Kolob, have made the lucky ticket on Friday, December De-cember 16, the place to be announced an-nounced later. The lovely piece of handiwork may be seen in the D. T. R. window and tickets may be secured from any member of the camp, or Captain Zelma Bear-dall. Bear-dall. The M. I. A. one-act plays given in each of the wards of the stake Tuesday night were well received by large and enthusiastic audiences assembled in each hall. Approximately 30 young people took part in the five productions, produc-tions, three of which were given in each of the wards. l Ted Kindred, son or Mr.' and Mrs. John R. Richard of thL city has accepted a call to tilt New Zealand mission. He w go to the mission home in Salt Lake City on January 23, and plans to sail from San Francisco, Fran-cisco, Calif., for his mission on January 31. 1 Dr. Amos N. Merrill of the B. Y. U., Provo will be the principal prin-cipal speaker at the Sunday night meeting in the First ward, under direction of the M. I. A. .'A splendid musical program is also arranged for the occasion and all ward members and friends are invited in-vited to attend. An invitation is extended to the general public to attend the consumer problem classes being conducted each Friday night in the public library. A new text on, "The Consumer Investigates", will begin Friday night, the meeting meet-ing to begin at 7 p. m The classes are reported to be especially es-pecially interesting and educational educa-tional and there is no charge. They are sponsored by the state adult educational department and the Nebo school district. Vaui Waters is instructor. Physical education classes for older girls and women are being held twice weekly on Mondaj and Thursday evenings at th Lincoln school auditorium. A are invited to attend. U., Provo, will give a travelogue trav-elogue on Palestine at a meeting meet-ing fo' the Literary Civic Circle meeting at 7:30 p.m.. Wednesday, Wednes-day, December 7. in the public library. The public is Invited. A large number of friends and members were in attendance at the farewell tsetimonial given for Dee Sanford in the First ward last Friday evening and again on Saturday night. Dee leaves in December for a mission to the Tahitian Islands. Mrs. Blanche Beal will review the book. "Home Place", a Christmas Christ-mas story, by Dorothy Thomas, at a meeting of the American Legion auxiliary, Wednesday at 8 p. m.. at Memorial hall. Kiwanis club members will dis-nense dis-nense with the''.' regular meeting Thursday night, to attend a missionary mis-sionary benefit banquet in the Second ward. The banquet begins promptly at 7:30 t. m.. and all members are urged to be present. |
