Show SOCIETY NEVS Mrs. Ann Stewart was hostess to the N. I. P. club at her home Saturday night. Following a tasty lunch "500" was enjoyed1 and prizes for the games were awarded to Mrs. Sarabell Stewart and Mrs. Blanch Hales, the latter being a guest. Other guests present in eluded Mrs. Vandal Childs, Mrs. Myron Child, Mrs. Bliss Childs and Mr. Floyd Stewart. Twelve members also were inattendance. Mr. and-Mrs. George Laney of this city announces the engagement engage-ment of their daughter, Esther, to LaMar Weight, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Weight, also of this city, the marriage to take place the latter part of this week. Complimentary to Miss Esther Laney, Miss Norma Witney entertained en-tertained at a miscellaneous shower at her home Friday -eve.-' ning. A delightful time was spent refreshments were served. During the evening's even-ing's games Mr. Claudin was awarded high score favor. - Mrs. Jane Stewart and Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Stewart and son, Marvin recently returned from a visit with La Var Stewart at Mr. and Mrs. F. O. D.1 Meakin of Los Angeles, Calif., have returned re-turned to their home after a ten days visit with Mr. Meakin's daughter, Mrs. J. F: Wingate here and other relatives in Salt Lake. ' . . . Mrs. C. A. Boyer returned Tuesday Tues-day from a two weeks visit with her children in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Lyall and Mrs. Wilford Lyall,. former residents resi-dents of this city have returned to their home in Leadville, Colo., after an enjoyable two weeks visit with Mr. and Mrs. William Wainwright and other friends and relatives. During their visit here they were entertained at numerous numer-ous parties and informal dinners by their many friends. In honor om Mr. and Mrs. Lois White of Spanish Fork who are leaving soon to make their home at Greenriver, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Maur-ice Bird entertained at a party at their home here Wednesday night. In attendance were: Mr. and Mrs. Phil Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Crump and Mr. and Mrs. Claude Williams, the guest of honor and host and hostess. Victor, Colo. While there they also visited some of the larger floral establishments. i ' Members of the Elite club were delightfully entertained Friday night at the home of Mrs. Thelma Clark. Bridge prizes for the evening eve-ning were awarded to Mrs. Faye Snelson and Mrs. Marjorie Frand-sen. Frand-sen. A nicely arranged luncheon was served early in the evening to Mrs. Alda Alleman, Mrs. Al-meda Al-meda Evans, Mrs. Coe Nelson, Mrs. Bell Sumsion, Mrs. Lela Nelson, Nel-son, Mrsi Dell Clark, Mrs. Charlotte Char-lotte Merritt, Mrs. Muriel Robertson, Robert-son, Mrs. Leola Ewing and Mrs. Naomi Thorn, the latter three being guests. Mrs. V. M. Sevy and Mrs. C. O. Claudin entertained members of their card club and their partners at a party at the latter's home, last Friday night. Prizes for the evening's games of bridge went to Harrison Conover, Mrs. Ronald Thorpe and C. O. Claudin. In attendance, were: Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Coffman, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Hales, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Thorpe, Mr. and Mrs, Howard Thorpe, Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Conover, Dr. and Mrs. L. E. Otteson, Otte-son, Dr. and Mrs. Sevy and Mr. andv Mrs. Claudin. Miss Wanda Stewart . has returned re-turned from a six weeks visit with her father at VictfJr, Colo., Miss Stewart, who is employed with the local floral, visited a number of leading shops in Colorado, receiving much information informa-tion on floral arrangement. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Clark of Seattle, Washington are visiting Mr. Clark's mother, Mrs. Will Clark and other relatives here. Mrs. Maud Curtis, Mrs. Ivy Bird and Mrs. Will Harrison have returned from Compton, Calif., where they visited their brother, Elton Hall who was seriously ill. Mrs. G. S. Wood and Mrs. Emma Gardner spent one day of the past week as guests of the G. M. P. Dougall's and other relatives in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Sumsion were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Will Phil-Jips Phil-Jips at a delicious fresh oyster supper on Friday night. Mrs. Dclos Oakley spent three days of the past week with relatives rela-tives in Salt Lake. Complimentary to Mrs. Ethel Loner whose birthday was Saturday, Satur-day, a number of relatives entertained en-tertained at a party at her home in the evening. A pleasant time was spent with social chat and a. tasty lunch. Mrs. E. O. Best entertained at a nicely arranged party at her home Friday night in henor of her son, Joseph and Miss Elaine Park of Provo, who were maii'ied recently. A delightful evening of games under direction of Mrs. Willis Weight was enjoye. and many lovely gifts were presented the guests of honor.
