Show Mapleton News Correspondent: Fern Jensen A very large crowd attended the operetta, "The Land of Dreams Come True," presented by the Mapleton grade school Friday night. The operetta was under the direction of Miss Helen Wheeler and Mr. Golden Jack-man. Jack-man. Miss Genna Ve Knudsen was the pianist. Pleasant after spending the week end with Mr. Anderson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Whites- tertained at a card party at their home Saturday evening. A delicious delici-ous dinner was served at a dining din-ing table. The guests were Mr. and Mrs. Glen Nielson and Mr and Mrs. Bill West, Spanish U'-'U Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Cox entertained en-tertained a few friends at their home. The evening was spent playing "Monopoly" and "500." Luncheon at a dining table was served to Mr. and Mrs. Preston Hooper, Mr. and Mrs. Orland Cloward, , and the host and hostess. host-ess. -oOo Approximately fifty people from here attended the Black Hawk celebration in Spanish Fork. oOo , Mr and Mrs. L .E. Harmer and Mr. and Mrs. Willis Harmer and son Kenneth, spent a day last week in Price, visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Johnson. oOo A group of friends surprised Alton Nielson with a 'party at his home Saturday evening. Games were the diversion of the evening A tray luncheon was served to the following: Miss Joyce Whiting, Miss Coleen Hurst, Miss Beverly Allan, Miss Barbara Bird, Miss Mary Perry, Miss Ailene Hatfield, Miss Barbara Bar-bara Burgie, Miss Shirley Johnson, John-son, Miss Jean Lindsay, Neno Blegge, Christie Sorenson, Ferris Larsen, Paul Lindsay, Richard March, Dickie Wilson, Donald Perry, Blaine Dibble and the guest of honor. oOo Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Allan, Mr and Mrs. W. B. Allan and son Merrill, have returned from a 'trip to southern California, where they were guests at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Lavell Allan and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ken-neth Allan. On returning, they stopped at the Boulder dam. oOo A birthday party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Spen-cer Mackley for their daughter, Vanetta, on her eighth birthday. Games and a dainty luncheon were enjoyed by the following little friends: Dorothy Holley, Ruth Holley, Beth Perry, Connie Warren, Shirley Hansen, Fae Lindsay and Kenneth Harmer. oOo Mr. and Mrs. Mark Johnson of Price, are visiting with relatives rela-tives here and in Springville. oOo . A meeting of the P.-T.A. was held last Thursday with Mrs. Spencer Mackley presiding. Members Mem-bers of the Spanish Fork P.-T.A. presented a project on "The District's Dis-trict's Buying Schoolbooks for ninth and tenth grades." Mrs. Marian Taylor of Spanish Fork had this in charge.
