Show FREIGHT RATE HIKE PROTESTED SALT LAKE CITY, June 21 (U.n Assistant Secretary Harold H. Ellsworth of the Utah.. Citizens' Rate association declared today that his organization will vigorously vigor-ously protest proposed increase of j freight rates from the west to eastern markets. Ellsworth said that the leading transcontinental lines have filed a request with the transcontinental transcontinen-tal freight bureau .in Chicago that a new rate of $2.46 per 100 pounds be established in place of the prevailing pre-vailing $2.28 qn shipments from Idaho, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico to Boston. The freight bureau bu-reau must approve the request before be-fore it is finally filed .with the interestate commerce committee. ' . i |
