Show FIRST WARD "M" MEN PLACE IN TOURNEY SpriiigvMle First ward "M" Men did themselves proud in the recent tournament of the Provo district held in Spanish Fork. Every player made an excellent record. Champions of the Kolob district dis-trict tournament, the First ward group made a fine showing, by placing second and flefeated only by Manavu ward of Provo, which has won the district championship champion-ship for four consecutive years. Following the tournament, John E. Booth of Spanish Fork presented present-ed a loving cup to the Manavu ward. Spanish Fork gave a .pen-I .pen-I ant to the Springville First ward team and the ball used in the tourney went to the consolation winners, Alpine. The Provo KLwanis club award -for the outstanding player and sportsman in the tournament went to George Bird of the First ward. An all tourney team was selected sel-ected as follows: Bert Cherring-tcn, Cherring-tcn, Springville First, and Niel McNight, Manavu, guards; LaMar Fullmer Spanish Fork Se'cond, and Tony Ivins, Pleasant View, forwards; for-wards; Bud Eggertson, Provo Fourth, center. |
