Show 'SOCIETY NlWS and Calvin and Betty Packard spent the week end at Strawberry Mrs. Ross Bradford was hostess to the Home Culture club at her home, Friday afternoon. W. Hoffman. The enter-: taining rooms were beautifully decorated with a profusion of fall flowers. A very dainty lunch was served afterwhich bridge was the diversion of the evening. Prizes were awarded to Miss Inez Re-gruto Re-gruto of Helper, Mrs. Alton Harker and Mrs. Owen Packard. Others in attendance were Mrs. Lyman Robbing, Mrs. Jack Robertson, Mrs. Mark Tripp, Mrs. Fred Smith, Mrs. Fred D. Hoffman of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Bill Lund and Mrs. John Bennett of Salt Lake, Mrs. Leo Cutler of Spanish Fork. Dr. and Mrs. Frederick Dunn recently re-cently returned from an enjoyable trip to the world's fair at Chicago. MissEffic Kclsey who has spent the summer with her mother, Mrs. Selina Kelsey raturned recently to her school work in New York City. Mrs. Colestia Boyer spent several sev-eral days of tnc past week with her daughter Mrs. Joseph Anderson and other relatives in Salt Lake. Members of the Utah county board of Daughters of Pioneers were delightfully entertained at the home of Mrs. Mary J. Finley, vice chairman of the county organization, or-ganization, at the regular monthly meeting, Saturday afternoon. In addition to the regular business of the organization, Mrs. Ellen Anderson An-derson entertained with pioneer songs, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Evelyn M. Boyer who also gave piano solos. The afternoon's entertainment was carried out in pioneer fashion, including a tasty luncheon which was served to board members and guests. j Mrs. J. X. Gardner has returned j to Springville where she will spend the fall and winter months. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Dalby and children left Wednesday for their home in Woodland, Calif., after an extended visit with relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Sum-sion Sum-sion were dinner guests Tuesday of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Oakley and were also entertainefl during the week by Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Oakley Oak-ley and Mr. and Mrs. Will Parry. Mis. Adelaide Dalton of Los Angeles, Calif., has returned to her home after a visit with her sister Mrs. Mary J. Finley and other relatives and friends here. Complimentary to Miss Louise Boyer, daughter of Dr. D. D. Boyer of Provo who will be married soon, Mrs. John Fox, Miss Mary Boyer and Mrs. F. C. Packard entertained entertain-ed at a shower at the home of the latter Thursday night. About 30 relatives and friends attended and Miss Boyer received a lovely assortment as-sortment of bridal gifts. Mis. Evelyn Fry entertained members of the Ava Dclma club at her home Wednesday night. Bridge prizes were won during the party by Mrs. Dolly Smith and Miss Norma Pierce. A dainty luncheon was served by the hostess host-ess to the following club members and guests: Mrs. Lillian Thorpe, Mrs. Viola Smith, Mrs. Carrie Tripp, Mrs. Paul Smith, Mrs. Virginia Vir-ginia Harker, Mrs. Blanch Hales, Mrs. Mary Bird, Mrs. Dolly Smith, Mrs. Elsie Robison and Mrs. Mary Friel.
