We have not waited or marked time for this decision. When 'we organized last October, we got ons top of our work and we have been there ever since. "We are right now preparing for the payment of claims in 1938. Approximately $1,194,000 has been collected and about that much again will be . collected by the end of the year. "We have had excellent cooperation co-operation on the part of Utah employers. The Utah law was passed unanimously; as far as we know, the only state in the country which can boast of such a record. "We, naturally, feel greatly gratified to have this matter definitely def-initely settled. We do not anticipate antici-pate any action on the part of Utah employers to test the constitutionality con-stitutionality of the Utah law." Industrial Commission Chairman William M. Knerr predicted smoothness of enforcement of the Utah law as a result of the decision. Governor Henry H. Blood commented: com-mented: "The decision of the supreme court of the United States clears the way for placing in effect the social secur '.ty program, which is an important part of President Presi-dent Roosevelt's comprehensive policy in behalf of the permanent perman-ent welfare of the people of the country." |
