Show ' E. R. JOHNSON SERVICES HELD Final tributes of respect were paid Edwin R. Johnson, 76, at funeral services Sunday, in the Fourth ward chapel. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Johnson, well known pioneer resident of this community, died suddenly last Thursday night at his home 185 East Fourth North street apparently recovering from a long illness. He had undergone two major operations. Born in Springville October 25, 1857, Mr. Johnson had lived here always. His father, Aaron Johnson John-son had always been a devout church member. He took a special interest in early day entertainments and was instrumental in building the old opera house here. For a number of years he served as local game warden. He mariil Florence Clyde in the Salt Lake endowment house, October Oc-tober 9, 18S2. She died in March 1911. Surviving him are a son and four daughters, Mrs. Floss Catcs. Lawrence Johnson, Springville; Mrs. Chester Johnson, Salt Lake; Mrs. James A. Hardy, Mrs. Grace Croff, Los Angeles, Calif.; 15 grandchildren, one great grandchild; grand-child; seven brothers and sisters: Mrs. James Weight, Atex Johnson, Salt Lake; Mrs. Rilda Wilkinson, Vernal; Mrs. Maud Roylance, Mrs. Christa Bell Curtis, Stephen and Moses Johnson, Springville. |
