Show REPORT WATER SUPPLY LOWER ' ' '. , j - ; . i' Water content in the snow at the ' Strawberry-Daniels divide is but 60 per cent of what, it was a year ago at the first part of March, it is reported by Charles De Moisy, Jr., supervisor of the Uintah National Na-tional forest. f- An average, of 58 measurements taken- tliere on March 6 showed that the snow depth, is 43Vj inches with a water content of 12.6 inches. A year ago the depth was 57 inches and 'the water content was 21 i aches'. " ' ' ' ' ' .The; snow depth and content this yeatf is, however, much greater than in 1931' when the depth' was 31 Vj inches and t'he content was 6.1. 1931 was one of the dryest years of the1 past two decades and in 1932 there was the most water since 1927. The amount this yea f as of the first part of March is about an- average of the last two years, tlie'- dry year1 and the wet year. The average over' a period of about 20 years has been a- depth of 52 inches. The water content average for this same period is not known as it was not taken formerly. for-merly. l! |
