Show MENDENHALL REUNION IS BIG SUCCESS With approximately 200 family members attending from Salt Lake, i Ogden and Utah county towns, the annual Mendenhall family reunion ; was held at Kelley's Grove in Hob- i ble Creek canyon Friday, Satur- i day and Sunday. Aaron Mendenhall Menden-hall was general chairman of the entertainment. An outstanding number on the program Saturday evening was the three-act drama, composed by Bayard Bay-ard 'Mendenhall, Salt Lake, in which a bowery dance hall scene of the early 70s was depicted. Willis K. Johnson, Sr., 80, and Mrs. Eliza Mendenhall, 75, oldest living family members, led the quadrille. An enjoyable program was held around a huge bonfire Friday evening eve-ning with local and out-of-town talent participating. Other features of the reunion included a baseball game between the Salt Lake and local families together with various other sports for children and adults. Sunday school was held Sunday morning under the direction of George B. Jex of Salt Lake. V. C. Mendenhall was elected chairman of the program for next year, with Mrs. Alice M. Johnson, R. Leo Bird and Barney Mendenhall Menden-hall of Salt Lake and Wendell Mendenhall, Men-denhall, Mapleton, assistants. |
