A recent letter from Cyrus E. Daliin who is modeling the monument monu-ment at Boston states that the cast of the monument is very satisfactory satis-factory and that it will be sent from the foundry to the monument' committee in Springville soon. Work on the base of the monument monu-ment which is to be placed on the southeast coiner of the city park Is expected to begin in the near future, the committee reports. - A total of $2,443 has been raised toward the project, since the first campaign four years ago. The monument has been under consideration consid-eration for nearly six years. With favorable, comment for .the project having been received from hundreds of former residents, prominent citizens, and state official of-ficial the committee in charge is confident that the necessary funds will be raised. Plans are being made for one of the largest celebrations and homecomings home-comings in the history of Springville Spring-ville on July 24, the date set for the unveiling of the monument. It is expected that Mr. Daliin Willi come from Boston for the occasion. ' |
