Show Cows Mire In Ice Covered Lake Sloughs The thin ice-covered shores of Utah lake are presenting a difficult problem to Springville stockmen feeding cattle in the west fields. The cattle, it is said, wander from the fields onto the ice in search of the "ink"' weed which grows abundantly in the lake. The weed ! protrudes several inches above the ; ice and furnishes excellent forage. j In some places the ice will hold the weight of the animals, while at other points they have become 1 mired. Some have been found more than a mile from the shoreline. Cattlerr.i now are compelled to herd the cattle and drive them back to the fields daily. |
