Show Orem, Lehi, Genola Win Fair Awards i. Roy Park's Orem Team Iireaks World's Record In Horse Pulling Lehi's community exhibit, featuring; sugar beets and other farm products was : awarded first place in division di-vision A, at the Utah county fair. Payson won second and Spanish Fork, third. Orem won first place in division di-vision B with Salem awarded sec- ond place. The Genola exhibit captured cap-tured first honors in the C class. Special mention was extended to Donna Parks of Orem who designed de-signed and arranged the Utah county exhibit. The display elicited much favorable comment from visitors at the fair. The exhibit representing a relief map of Utah valley was unique. Among the firms given special mention are the American Fork Nursery and the Hillcrest Fruit Farm of Mapleton. A ribbon was awarded to the Utah Poultry Producers Pro-ducers association. World's Record Roy Parks of Orem established a new world's record in the middle f weight class in the finals of the horse-pulling contest at the Utah county fair Friday afternoon when his team weighting between 2700 and 3000 pounds pulled 3100 pounds 27 Vi feet. This gave Mr. Parks first prize in this class, while H. B. Wing of Mapleton took second place his team pulling 2800 pounds 8 feet 5 inches. Third place in this class went, to Walter Bushwell of Orem, whose team pulled 2600 pounds 21 feet and 10 inches. Chris Peterson of Provo took first prize in the lightweight class, his team weighing less than 2700 pounds pulled 2700 pounds 26 feet. Frank Barney of Spanish Fork won second prize in the lightweight light-weight class with a pull of 2700 pounds. Third prize went to Ernest Davis whose team pulled 2650 pounds 26 feet 6 inches. Urban Overlade of Provo took first place in the heavyweight class, which included teams of 3000 pounds and more. His team made a pull of 3325 pounds 27 feet. H. B. Hales of Spanish Fork was second sec-ond with a pull of 2650 pounds 24 feet 9 inches.
