Winn Harrison." Mrs. A. C. Lambert of Salt Iake wns a. Moihei's day guest of her daughter Mrs. Arvll Bird and family. Mrs. R. D. Jucobsen of Onk City, and Mrs. Lester Ford and son, Donald Don-ald of Cedar City, were guests this week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A, E. Jacobaon. The Ladies' Literary club members mem-bers and their mothers were entertained enter-tained with a special Mother's day program Saturday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Jessie Dalton.' Mrs, Mercedes Anderson was assisting hostess. Luncheon was served at 3 o'clock followed by an excellent program in which Miss Helen Spencer of Provo furnished several readings; Don Anderson and Verl Harrison, an instrumental duet; Miss Hannah Rowland, vocal solo; Mrs. Jessie Dalton, vocal solo. Accompanists Ac-companists were Mrs. Bess Rey-, Rey-, nolds and Mrs. Julia Sumsion. President Minnie Groesbeck welcomed wel-comed the guests and presided during dur-ing the program. About thirty-five members and guests attended. Each guest was presented with a carnation carna-tion at the conclusion of the meeting. Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Beardall, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Beardall, Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Miner and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Miner were guests at a "Red and White" banquet and social Wednesday Wed-nesday evening at the First ward amusement hall in Provo. The Ladies' Missionary society of the Community church were guests of Mrs. W. L. Grooms at their regular monthly meeting. Mrs. T. L. Callister gave a paper on "The American African,!' and Mrs. Mc-Fadden Mc-Fadden of Payson, president of the Salt Lake Presbyterian society spoke on "Faithfulness." Rev. H. L. Wilson furnished a vocal solo; Miss Louise Foster, a piano solo. Lunch was served to thirteen members mem-bers and guests. The Bee Hive class of the Third ward M. I. A., under the direction pf Mrs. Maud Peterson and Mrs. Julia Sumsion, entertained : at a .veil arranged social for their moth-irs moth-irs on Tuesday evening at the amusement hall. About forty members mem-bers and guests attended. Participating Partici-pating in the program were Melba Johnson, Edna Brimhall, Mrs. Wayne Johnson, Vera Hone, Fay ! Christensen Louise Russell, Ven-etta Ven-etta Peterson, Nelda Johnson, Melpha Binks, Miss Floss Harmer, Margaret Stone, Afton Brlnghurst, Clara Harmer, May Johnson, Mamie Henderson, Eloise Metcalf, Evelyn Metcalf,, Edith Teasdale. Members of the P. S. Bridge club were guests of Mrs. Josephine Brinton on Thursday evening. Prizes were won by Mrs. Olive Miller and Mrs. Roy Hardy of Provo. Pro-vo. Eight members enjoyed a dainty dain-ty lunch served in conclusion to the party. |
