They also spent short time with other relatives here and at Mapleton. Maple-ton. Mrs. Clifford Harmer and Mrs. Claia Black of Ogdcn spent several days of the past week as guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Harmer. A number of friends enjoyed a ennyon party at Kelley's Grove in Hobble Creek canyon Thursday afternoon. In attendance were Mrs. Hepsy Berry Birch and Mrs. Melba C. Osmond who are visiting here from Washington, D. C. Miss Effie Kelsoy of New York, Mrs. Blanche M. Condio of Salt Lake, Mrs. Alia Thomas, and Mrs. Hannah Han-nah Packard of Provo, Mrs. Ethel Weight, Mrs. Zina Condie, Mrs. Hannah Clyde. Mrs. Mae Huntington Hunting-ton and Mrs. Vinn Boyer of this city. Miss Alberta Mendenhall with her Sunday school class accompanied accom-panied by Miss Dona Salisbury spent a few days of the past week in Hobble Creek canyon. Included in the group were lone Averett, Bernice Palfreyman, Louise Patrick, Pat-rick, Aleem Condie, Verona Condie and the chaperones. Complimentary to Mrs. Rheuama Weight whose seventy-second birthday birth-day was Monday, a nicely arranged dinner was given at her home for relatives and friends. Mrs. Nora Clyde, Mrs. Polly West-wood, West-wood, Mrs. Ethel Weight, Mrs., Nell Wiscombe of Mapleton and Mrs. Mae Johnson of Provp. -Three of the guests have passed their seventieth birthday, including Mrs. Thorn, Mrs. Hall and Mrs- Westwood the latter being eight-two years old. Miss Lucille Chute has returned to her home in Oakland, Calif .s after a visit with Mrs. Kate Payne in this city. , Mr. and Mrs. Creed Kindred entertained en-tertained the members of the La Genta club at their home Friday evening. Bridge was played and Mrs. Wilbur Allan won high score favor. Luncheon was served to Mr. and Mrs. D. V. Roylancc, Mr. and Mis. Fred Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Pace, Mr. and Mrs. Allan, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kindred and Mr. and Mrs. Milo Hendriks of Provo, the latter two couples being guests. A delightful birthday party was given Saturday afternoon complimentary compli-mentary to Mrs. Percy Anderson and her daughter Mrs. Heber Bcaxtrum of Spanish Fork. Dinner and a musical program were enjoyed en-joyed by the following guests: Mrs. Lydia Averett, Mrs. Ida Clyde, Miss Lillian Clyde and Mrs. Warner Allan and children, A delightful time was spent by the Condie family when they met in reunion at Kelley's Grove in Hobble Crook canyon Friday eve- ning. A sumptuous chicken supper sup-per and games were enjoyed by all including Mr. and Mrs. Richard Condie and children of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Packard and family of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. G. S. Condies Mr. and Mrs. John Crandall, Mrs. Lena Maycock and family, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Condie and children, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Condie of this city and Mrs. Melba Osmund and daughter of Washington, Washing-ton, D. C. The marriage of Miss Naomi Dalton, daughter of Mrs. Sarah Dalton of Los Angeles, formerly of Springville to Grant Thorn, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Thorn of this city took place July 20 in Brooklyn, New York. Mr. Thorn just completed a 25 months' mission mis-sion in the eastern states and was met there by his parents and Miss Dalton. The marriage was performed per-formed by James H. Moyle, president presi-dent of the eastern states mission, at the mission Home, In attendance attend-ance were the groom's parents, the bride's brother Malan Dalton of New Yorlt, and about a dozen close friends including Mr. and Mrs. Harold Whiting, formerly of Springville. After the marriage the young couple and Mr. and Mrs. Thorn tourncd the eastern states going as far as Canada. They returned re-turned to their home here Sunday evening.
