Show Beloved Springville Couple Celebrate Golden Wedding ikl. ! With a large crowd of relatives and life long friends present, Mr. "" and -Mrs. M. Albert (Bert) Miner llSe celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Wednesday evening with a program and social in the Second ward amusement hall. " Ross Miner, of Magna, oldest ' grandson of the couple, was in r!Rf charge of the well-arranged pro-w pro-w gram, including musical numbers and readings. Dancing and refreshments refresh-ments were other enjoyable fea-?r" fea-?r" tures of t'he entertainment. Mrs. Miner was born in Spring- 'ville, January 3. 1S63, a daughter of the first Springville bishop, Aaron Johnson and Cecelia San-si: San-si: ford Johnson. She has always lived ca: here, and taken an active part in church affairs. She was in the Second ward Relief society presidency presi-dency for 10 years, and is at present pres-ent a teacher in that organization. jlrs. Miner filled a short term mission in the Northwestern states M she was affiliated with the Service II Star Legion here and is a charter member of the Daughters of Pioneers. Pio-neers. Mr. Miner, was -lso born in this city, on May 27, 1S62, a son of Moroni and Nancy E. Chase Miner, eaily Utah pioneers. lie has always been acteive in L. D. S. church work, having served two ' missions, one in the Northwestern and another in the western states. He is a member of the high priests ti quorum. jj He has followed the occupation of farming, with exception of 10 years, during which time he was engaged in the retail grocery business bus-iness in this city. The couple were married in the Salt Lake endowment house, June 7, 1883. They are parents of five children, three of whom are living; Leon and Grant Miner-, and Mrs. Thora DalLy all of Springville. They also have 15 grand-c'nildren. A unique feature of the wedding celebration was the attendance of Mr. Miner's father, Moroni Miner, 98 years old, and the attendance also of Mrs. Miner's mother, Mrs. Cecelia Johnson, who is 92 years old. |
