Show SOCIETY NEVS Complimentary to her daughter Ranee, Mrs. George Crandall entertained enter-tained at a birthday party at her home on Thursday. Progressive "Cootie" was the feature of entertainment enter-tainment and during -the games prizes were awarded to Enid Pennington, Pen-nington, Ila Clyde and Devere Weight. An attractive luncheon was served by the hostess at one long table following the games. A pretty birthday cake with eleven candles was used as the centerpiece In attendance were Lucille and Louise Averett, Phyllis Averett, Lucille Best, Klell Case, Marjorie Houtz, Devere Weight, Keith Averett, Catherine Weight, Enid Pennington, Lois Johnson, Ila Clyde,, Venice Whiting, Elaine Nielson, Lamar Roy lance, Ralph Reed, Sy donna Bradley and Ver-laine Ver-laine Renrdall. Miss Roth Loynd and Miss Elsie IcCurdy spent the week end with friends in Salt Lake. Members of the Mother's Study club .will be guests of Mrs. Rena Roy lance Friday at the home of her daughter Mrs. E. T. Crandall, 281 North Second East street. A cordial invitation is extended to al! members to be present. Mr. and Mrs. Austin 'H. Roylance and E. R. Johnson of this city went to Lehi Sunday to attend the thirtieth thir-tieth weding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. B. Y. Johnson. A delightful evening was spent by the young folks of the Community Commun-ity church at Arrowhead resort fol-. lowing a meeting Tuesday evening at the church. In attendance were the Rev. Mr. Wilson, Margaret Jensen, Jen-sen, Giace Diamond, Margaret and William Foray the, Lorin Cameron, Robert Urquhart, Grant Blackett, Robert Lyall, Ida Hoffman, Francis Darrow, Carl Bunker, Mrs. Tese H. Hatfield, Pat Ward, Beryl Ireland, Ruby Street, Wilson Street and Lucille Ewing-, the latter four being be-ing from Provo. Members of N. I. P. club will moot Saturday evening April 25 at the home of Mrs. Sarabell Stewart. All members are invited to attend. The healih conference workers spent a pleasant evening at the home of Mrs, John S. Boyer Friday. A delicious supper was served .by the hostess followed by music and , social chat. Present .were: Mrs. j Otis Hjorth, Mrs. Jennie Brown, Mrs. Poulsen, Mrs. Gladys Boyer, Mrs. Cloe Fox, Mrs. Eva Crandall, Mrs. Mary Child, Mrs. Ethel Weight, Mrs. Emma Alleman, Mrs. George Simkins, and Mrs. Ne!hpi Gledhill. Mrs. Boyer was assisted by her daughter Mary. Members of the Home Culture club held their annual guest day program Friday at the home of Mrs. G. G. Woodmansee. Mrs. Hugh Baxter was assisting hostess. A piano duet was given by Ruth and Delia Baxter; piano solo, Blanch Hales. Mrs. Eva Crandall gave an interesting paper on music and her talk was Illustrated with a vocal selections by Miss Catherine R. Dougall In conclusion luncheon was served to 17 club members and the following guests: Mrs. Isabel Brown, Mis. D. P. Brinton Jr., Mrs. G. W. Mendenhall, Mrs. Peter Forsyth, For-syth, Mrs. Richard Johnson, Mrs. Bert Groesbeck, Mrs. Johnson of Rexburg, Idaho, and Mrs. George D. Clyde of Logan. The Springville-Provo Bridge club members and partners were guests Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Carl Olsen in Provo. The occasion was also the birthday of Mrs. Crawford who was presented present-ed with a beautiful fern. During the evening of bridge prizes were i awarded as follows: Ted Johnson land Mrs. Crawford first; Mrs. Floss Cates, Springville and Roy Hardy, I Provo, second, Mrs. Ed Shields and Sam Perlman, Provo, consolation. Others who attended from Springville Spring-ville were Mis. Josephine Brinton and Mrs. Elmo Roylance. The home was beautifully decorated with spring flowers and an attractive luncheon concluded the party. Mr. and Mrs. Llryd Kendall are visiting relatives in Grand Junction Junc-tion and Fruita, Colorado. In honor of Mrs. Golda J. Huber, a recent bride, Miss Melba Sumsion and Miss Lillian Russell entertained entertain-ed at a nicely arranged miscellaneous miscel-laneous shower at the latler's home Saturday evening. Progressive "cootie" was the principal feature of entertainment during which game Mrs. Wandel Openshaw of Provo won high score prize and Mrs. Huber consolation. A dainty . lunch followed being served to nearly 30 relatives and friends. Many pretty and useful gifts were received by the honored guest. The regular monthly social hour ; of the Primary association of the ; stake will be held Saturday at 3 i o'clock. President Mae Condie i will preside and a good representa-! representa-! tion of officers and teachers from the various wards is desired. Mrs. Joseph Grant and Mrs. Hugh Baxter and daughter accompanied Mr. Grant to southern Utah this week. Mrs. Grant will spend the week with her husband while Mrs. Baxter will visit her parents Mr. j and Mrs. Joseph Houston at Pan-guitch. Pan-guitch. !
