I Firemc:f Lead In Observance of State's Birthday Mammoth Parade, Sports and Music Are Features; Eight Bands Engaged; Committees Are Named. A unique celebration to be held here July 24 is being planned by the Springville fire department, who, will have the events of the day in charge. Tentative plans include, the salute and band serenade at dawn, a program and historic parade in the morning depicting the life of Utah pioneers in the early days. Sports of all kinds for old and young will be featured in the afternoon. The day's activities will be concluded with fireworks and a dance in the evening. Six bands have been engaged for the day and it is expected that many people from nearby towns will join with Springville citizens in the big celebration. a meeting of the Firemen's association Monday, the following committees were chosen for the day: General chairmen. Ralph Snelson, D. C. Brimhall and C. O. Claudin ; advertising, Virgil Bird, Ivan Child. Joe Teasdale; finance. O. C. Brimhall, Olin Zabriskie. Burt Wheeler: sports, Guy Brown, Orosn Hansen. Fred Alleman; entertainment, entertain-ment, Ralph Snelson, C. O. Claudin, S. A. Wood, W. E. Dunn. V. J. Leighty. In adidtion to these committeemen, com-mitteemen, ten special policemen will be employed during the day according ac-cording to officers in charge. |
