Brown, president of the Utah Calming- Crops association, to meet with them next Saturday, definite action was again deferred xm tomato to-mato rontracts by the members of the- Utah' County Cunning Crops association, who met ' in this city Saturday afternoon; The meeting was well attended and many expressed their views with regard to canning crops situation situa-tion throughout the state. William Nielsen, president of the .Utah County Farm Bureau, was present and characterized the problems of the farmers as. economic, lie declared de-clared that those problems can best be solved by organization. ' George Scott, of Lake View presided pre-sided at the meeting, and again urged the importance of organization organiza-tion among the canning crops growers. ' ' Among the speakers was Walter Hoklaway, one of the largest growers grow-ers of tomatoes in the state, who spoke in favor of standing behind the'state committee's recommendation recommenda-tion with regard to price fixing. He declared that he favored acting on the advice of those who had made investigation of all phases of the question. He said he believed that, it was the' duty i of the growers to take into .consideration the possibility possi-bility of the canners to pay, rather than to take action that might chock these industries off. He declared de-clared that these industries are of great importance to the county, and held the view that they should be given un opportunity to exist. Various members spoke in behalf of the farm bureau, and urged that it be given general support.. |
