Show Blames Parents. .. That the salvation of the American youth, and the impressing- upon it of the necessity of religion and morality is primarily the duty of the home, is the opinion of Dr. Henry N. Sherwood, state superintendent of public instruction-of Indiana. Pointing to the laxity in many homes as to the inculcation in-culcation of religious principles, Dr. Sherwood said that I parents of the present day protect their automobiles by insur-, insur-, ance, place their money in vaults where it is safeguarded by ! concrete and steel and then proceed to forget about the safety of their boys and girls, their, most treasured possessions, posses-sions, and the nation's most. treasured possessions.; v.-.-The church, too, has its part to play, as pointed out by; j the speaker, but he stressed the fact that the chief place for ; the right training of youth is in the home. . .,. . ! , '.: -: Undoubtedly, Dr. Sherwood is right in hi? contention, i Undoubtedly, too, there is a great lack of religious sentiment; and training among the youth of today.. : .;. . ....'
