Show I SI'RIMiYILLE NEWS I , The play "-iue Dttsi. ?f th P-"-tli" will be presented at the Springville Opera House next Saturday evening, even-ing, February 23, by members of the Springville First ward choir. This piny was presented about two weeks ago in the First ward church and later at Thistle. The Springville Volunteer Firemen Fire-men entertained at a banquet and ball Thursday evening. The banquet ban-quet took place in the Third ward amusement hall and was followed by the dance in the opera house. Members of the Springville eity council that have just retired from office and the present council were special guests of the occasion. Leo Koberlson acted as toast master. The address was given by Ohief Iv. F. AViscombe. Those who responded lo toasts were Ex-Mavor John S. lioyer. Jr., Mavor (I. 1!. Maycock, S. h. Mendenhall, J. F. Smith, A. W. Ilnriner, II. T. Reynolds Rey-nolds and II. Ralph Smart. Other numbers on the program were a ladies' quartet from the Fourth ward, a reading by Miss Irene Met-calf Met-calf and a 'cello solo by C. II. C'hilds. R. D. Wndloy, commercial agent of the I'tah County Farm llureau. addressed about 40 fruit and vegetable vege-table growers at the Springville library Thursday evening on the new articles of incorporation that have been proposed by the Utah State Farm Ilureau. Much interest was manifest by those present and it is very possible that an organization organiza-tion will be effected in Springville adopting the proposed plan. John Bryan who recently had his leg amputated at the L. D. S. hospital hos-pital in Salt Lake City, returned to his home Tuesday. Fred T.iddiard of Trovo was arrested ar-rested Wednesday evening by Marshall Mar-shall c. H. Clark. He appeared before be-fore Judge Wayne Johnson Friday and paid a fine of 825.00. |
