Show Isivetdigalion Needed Charges of discrimination by the Utah State Automobile association against the southern section of Utah have been heard for a long time. Recently attention to these charges have been caiku by the Herald and other newspapers of the stale. At least one Salt Lake paper acquainted with the situation has commented, on the condition, substantiating the charges of the southern communities. Lest flu re be a misunderstanding, let it be known that no attack has ever been made in this connection on the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce. Although it is difficult to separate the Utah State Automobile association from the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce, no one has ever charged the latter organization with discrimmauon against any part of the I slate. On the contrary, the organization has been highly I commended for the interest it has taken in raising the annual 1 advert:. .in;.; fund to let the world know of Utah's resources. However, the people living south of Salt Lake City are ,' anxious for ihe Chamber of Commerce to make an unbiased investigation of the complaints. As has been said, a close relationship re-lationship exists between the personnel of the chamber and the association. The present president of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce is a former president of the auto association. The present president of the auto association is a femur president of the Chamber of Commerce. Not- withstanding I his close relationship, no accusation has even been intimaLed against either of these men. Both are men o!' tlie highest integrity who have the welfare of the entire ! .kite at heart. No cue has done more in recent years for 1 the construction of permanent highways in Utah than the present president of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce. ! 1L is sincerely hoped that a thorough investigation be made, as previously suggested. Surely, there must be some-(hing some-(hing wrong or time would eliminate the complaints. As the years have rolled by. however, the complaints have persisted. per-sisted.
