Show .-.SOCIETY:-: Lake City Wednesday evening to attend the wedding reception of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Holt. Reynolds and Dora Sutherland were hostesses at a theater party Wednesday night for the Fourth ward Gleaner Girls. Twenty guests were present and enjoyed the picture pic-ture show and a luncheon after at the home of Miss Reynolds. Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Roylance announce an-nounce the marriage of their daughter, daugh-ter, Helen, to Edward T. Crandnll, Thursday August 21, at Los Angeles; California. - ' ;' The Misses Lucy and Mary Roylance Roy-lance left Friday for Salt Lake county to teach school in the south Jordan school district. Lucy will teach at Granite and Mary will teach at South Jordan. Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Roylance, who were formerly of Springville but have been residents of Portland, Ore., for the past 15 years, are visiting visit-ing with friends and relatives in Springville and Spanish Fork. Mr. and Mrs. Don C. Johnson, Jr., of Nevada, were Springville visitors the first of the week. They were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Johnson, Sr. Steve Daniels, on his return to his home to Aztec, Mexico, visited Monday and Tuesday with relatives and friends in Springville. Mr. Daniels has been visiting in Wyoming. Wyo-ming. He was a former resident of Springville. He was accompanied accom-panied on his return trip to Mexico by Mr. and Mrs. Roy Daniels. Gordon Crandnll was pleasantly surprised at his home Tuesday evening even-ing by a number of Springville friends. Dancing and cards were enjoyed. Refreshments were served to twelve. Mrs. Clifford Diet and children returned to their home at Soldier Summit, after having spent the last few weeks at the home of Mrs. Daniels' parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Wonnacott. Miss Mabel Wheeler is visiting with friends in Provo. Miss Bessie Wannicott is visiting . with friends in Mid vale this week. Mr. and Mrs.- Wayne Johnson hnve returned from visiting with friends in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Grace Tozier, of California, is visiting with her father, D. E. Davis. Mr. and Mrs. Davis and daughter iMattie and Mrs. Tozier motored to Saltair Saturday. The following persons motored to Salt Lake City during the week to attend the rodeo :. Stephen Deal, Harold Christenson, Dr. Beal and Clyde Packard. : Mrs. F. M. Young and daughters Maine and Marion, of . Salt Lake City were the guests during the week of Mrs. Young's mother, Mrs. J. R. Goldsbrough. Miss Carol Bird has returned from a visit in Denver, Colorado, where she was the guest of Mrs. G. A. Thompson. Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Jones and children chil-dren motored to Salt Lake Saturday where they attended the rodeo. -. Miss Portia Davis who has been spending the summer in Salt Lake City, visited with her mother, Mrs. Hannah Davis, the first of the week. Dr. and Mrs. Mark Bringhurst of Salt Lake City and Bishop and Mrs. J. F. Bringhurst enjoyed a trip to Fish Lake this week. Mrs. Dimick Huntington has returned re-turned from a visit with relatives in Salt Lake City. Miss Josephine Stookey and Miss Helen Murdock were the week end visitors of Miss Carol Bird. Mrs. T. T. Nelson had as her visitors Monday Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Winsor and Mrs. Jack Croockston and Two daughters, all of Salt Salt Lake City. Carlos Hutchlngs announces the birth of another grandson, born to Mr. and Mrs. Birgue Hutchings, August 26. This makes a total of 71 grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. S.C. Whittaker entertained en-tertained at dinner Sunday in honor of Mrs. Whittaker's brother, Dr. S. E. Dalton, who has recently returned re-turned from Philadelphia. The guests included Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Miner, Miss Hilda Dalton, Oliver Dalton and S. E. Dalton, Sr. Mrs. Jennie Clyde, Mrs. Lucille 1 Crandall and Mr.s Lulu Mendenhall ! entertained at a lawn party at the home of Mrs. Clyde, for the Fourth ward Gleaners. Mr. and Mrs. O. F. Burton, Mr and Mrs. H. G. Thorpe, Mr. and Mrs Ronald Thorpe and Mrs. Levi Thorpe have returned from a trir through the Yellowstone Nationa: rjark. soon to make her home in Salt Lake City, was the honored guest at a party given by the Beehive girls of the home of Miss Olice Childs, Thursday night. Games and dancing danc-ing were enjoyed. Refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Anton, who were married Wednesday of last week, were the honor guests at a reception given by their friends this week. Mrs. Dimick Huntington had as her guests on Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. J. Bruce Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Jarvis and Mr. and Mrs. Royle and son and daughter, all of Salt Lake City. Dr. Eugene Dalton, Mrs. S. C. Whittaker and Mrs. M. F. Miner spent Tuesday evening with Dr. and Mrs. F. Dunn at the State Mental hospital. Mrs. G rover Clyde had as her dinner guests Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Edwnrd W. Bluemel of Midvale, Mr. and Mrs. James T. Erecson of Murray, Mur-ray, and Mr. and Mrs. A, B. Gore of Springville. Miss Pearl Starr returned to Ogden this week, where she will take up her position at the deaf and 'dumb school. Dr. Eugene Dalton went to Salt Leroy Starr, who has been attending at-tending summer school at the U. A. C, is visiting with his mother this week before returning back to school for the winter at Logan. Miss Donna Ashcraft entertained a numer of girls at a rag bee Friday Fri-day night of last week. A program and refreshments were enjoyed by , those present. The Gleaner girls from Mapleton and the Springville wards motored, hiked, or rode horses to Kelly's ' grove in Hobble Creek canyon, : Tuesday night. It is the intention ' of the Gleaner girls of the five wards to buy a lot in the grove and sponsor the erection of a building to be known as the Mutual Girls home. Erling Roylance has returned to his home in Springville, after having hav-ing been at Redmond the past two months. Miss Edith Jones of Salt Lake was the week-end guest of Miss Virginia Childs.
