Show HOOVER GIVEN REAL OVATION WASHINGTON, June 15 (UP) Herbert Hoover, Republican presidential presi-dential nominee, was cheered by employes at the commerce department depart-ment today on his first appearance in public since the Kansas City convention acted. Thanks Are Expressed Hoover sent a telegram to the convention which will he read to delegates by Senator George Moses, chairman, when the meeting convenes con-venes today. The message, which thanks the convention for the honor given Hoover, was not made public pub-lic here. Persons close to the secretary said he did not plan to resign immediately im-mediately from the cabinet and had made no definite plans for the immediate future. Arriving at his office at 9:15 Hoover was greeted with the ap plauso of a gathering in the corridor cor-ridor in front of his door. He acknowledged the ovation with a broad smile and hurried salute, hastening into the seclusion of his office on the second floor. Hoover would give no indication of his plans, his only statement being be-ing "I have no comment to make." He is expected to resign in a few weeks after clearing up some unfinished un-finished business of the department' he has headed for seven years. To Confir With Leaders Hoover will confer with leaders of the Republican party as they return to Washington from Kansas City after these conferences wm perfect his campaign plans. |
