Show PIONEERS OF SPRINGVILLE TO BE FETED Daughters Of Pioneers To Entertain Ancestors At City Park Today The pioneers of Springville; will be the quests of honor at a reception to be tendered them at the city park this afternoon at 2 o'clock, according accord-ing to announcement of Mrs. Eliza Thorn general chairman of the committees com-mittees in charge. The entertainment is in charge of the Daughters of the Pioneers, Camps Nos. 1 and 2. A delicious picnic lunch .will be served to all pioneers, each member from the two camps being asked to provide lunch lor two and to be responsible for one guest. A nicely arranged program will be given as follows: Community singing, under direction of Mrs, Solon So-lon Wood; invocation, Mrs. George , McKenzie ; address of welcome, Mrs. Olive Anderson, president of Camp No. 1; reading, Lucy Wainwright ; reading, "To the Pioneers," composed compos-ed by Jacob McCurdy. a pioneer, by his daughter Elsie McCurdy; closing clos-ing prayer, Mrs. Julia Maycock, chaplin from Camp No. 1. A special feature of the afternoon will lie reminiscences by each pioneer pio-neer present. This entertainment marks the closing of the season's meetings of the Springville Daughters of the Pioneers. The amusements of the afternoon will be in charge of Mrs. Nell Alleman. The officers of both camps will be in attendance to assist as-sist in caring for their guests of honor, it is stated. "While this is the last meeting of the local camps until .September, the members will work incessantly, in season and out, on their project of erecting a monument to the memory i f the pioneer mothers, according to Mrs. Thorn. |
