SPRINGVILLE TEAM PLAYS FAST BALL Score Zigzagged Throughout Contest; Game Decidedly Best of Day's Contest. In tlie most tbrilliug game played play-ed durins the first day of the state tournament, the Springville basketball bas-ketball quintet lost to Panguitcli by the score of 38 to 28. The last years' champions played a wonderful game and displayed team work that was not duplicated bvany other team during the day, but the acurate basket shooting, from long range, by the eagle eyed Panguitch twirlers, was an exhibition exhibi-tion of some of the most sensational shooting ever pulled off on the polished floor and resulted in Suricgville's loss. Time after time tui-y sent the sphere swishing through the hoop from a mark well back of the middle of the floor, in fact with one or two exceptions, all their field goals were staged from long distant positions. Springville played an entirely different game to that of her opponents, op-ponents, making short snappy passes pas-ses to get the ball under the hoop, and their whirl wind speed gave tliein possession of the ball the greater part of the time. The lend changed hands several times in the first three quarters and at no time was the margin more than three points. The score was tied at the end of the first quarter, the end of the half, and at the end of the third quarter. Shortly after the beginning of the third quarter, Paul Thorn was taken out for personals. Haymond Childs and Asheraft were substituted, substi-tuted, hut from this time on it was impossible to work a defensive that would stop the eagle eyed rangers from long distance scoring. Springville citizens and high school students were there in mass and not a little enthusiasm was displayed. dis-played. Dick Thorn and Heed Dal-lin. Dal-lin.
