Show FINE ADDITION TO BE MADE ON LOCAL PLANT Another stop in tin! onward march of the Columbia Steel corporation cor-poration and the subsidiary plants of that institution is to lie taken within the next few weeks when an addition is to he made to the plant of the Republic Croosoting company which will ho made at a cost of more than $150. It is understood that the proposed propos-ed enlargements will consist of the const riif't ion of n new building to house the additional stills needed in the increased tar production of the Columbia Steel corpora I ion 's eoko ovens, the entire tar output out-put of which is handled by the Republic Re-public Croosoting company. Since the present output of tar at the coke pi: lit is all that the present ereosoting- plant can handle, plans for (lie enlargement of the plant began with the announcement of the new coke plant unit. The croosoting plant will be ready some time in l'Ybniary about the same time as the coke plant will he completed. At present the oreosul jug plant cimlnys JO men. The now rdilition will necessitate the employeinent of approximately 20 more men. However, How-ever, it is staled that these men will not lie needed until the now addition Is coinnleled In U'ebrunry.
