Show baseball playing for the Concrete. Colo., team. He won honors with the team in numerous contests. About a year ago he went to California, Cali-fornia, where he has been since. Three months ago he married, his bride survives him, as do ten brothers broth-ers and sisters. His mother is seriously ser-iously ill following a stroke and bus not been told of the death of her son. The father, C. II. Bellows, left yesterday morning for California, the telegram stating that Marion had died was received after the father left. No particulars as to the accident have been received. It is believed the body will be brought here for burial. LAKE SHORE BOY DIES IN CALIFORNIA (Special to The Hernld) SPANISH FORK, May 17 Word that Marion Bellows, well known Utah county athlete and former service ser-vice man, had died in a California hospital following an accident while working on1 a steam shovel, was received re-ceived here Saturday. Mr. Bellows Bel-lows was one of the first company of volunteers to leave Spanish Fork at the time of the World war, and before the selective draft went into operation. He was born at Lake Shore 20 years ago. the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Bellows. He received the rudiments of his education edu-cation in the public schools here and during his last year in hih school carried off a majority of th track events, practically winning the field day for the local high school. He went first to Mare Island after he volunteered. Six months were spen, there in intensive training, train-ing, after which he was sent to tht Harvard Radio school at Harvard College for intensive training ir that branch of the service. After h( completed his training and qualified quali-fied as a radio operator, he was assigned as-signed to an Important ship tine served as a radio operator al! through the World war.
