Show MANY FRIENDS PAY TRIBUTE TO MRS. BLACKETT Many friends of John W. Black-ett Black-ett and family paid final tribute to the life of Mr. BlaclJ.tt at the funeral services held in the Spring-ville Spring-ville Fourth ward chapel Sunday afternoon, with Dell Thorn of the ward bishopric presiding. Musical numbers were furnished by Inez Wheeler and Helen Palfrey-u-un, who sang a duet; solo, Walter Robinson of Provo ; solo, Sarah Ramsey of Provo; violin solo, Thel-ma Thel-ma Palfrevman, who is a granddaughter grand-daughter of Mr. Blackett. The invocation in-vocation was by Rev. S. Hall Barrett, Bar-rett, Jr., the benediction by Alvie Xabriskie. Tbe speakers were President G. R. Maycock, and .1. F. Briughurst, each of whom paid tribute to the life and character of Mr. Blackett. Interment was in the city cemetery. ceme-tery. Alma Fullmer dedicated the jrave. Mr. Blackett was born in England February 29, 1848. He came to Utah wlien a boy of six and settled In Sprlngville where he had since lived. During the struggles of the early settlers he participated in the Indian wars, and throughout his life he had been instrumental in building the community. Surviving are his widow and the following sons and daughters, all of whom reside in Springville ; John W. Blackett, Mrs. D. T. Palfreyman, II. V. and Deo W. Blackett, Mrs. Flora McPherson, Lewis, Frank and Farl Blackett, an dMrs. Neil Diamond. |
