Mr. and Mrs. Vern Cannon left Sunday for their home in St (ieorne and Mrs. Sam Warner left also for Le Grande. Oregon, after spending spend-ing a week with Mr. and Mrs. George Crimdall. The dining table was centered wit large birthday birth-day cake holding pink candles, at either end of the table were crystal holders each holding a pink princess prin-cess candle. Guests included Mrs. X. J. Deal, Mrs. C. A. Boyer, Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Holt, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Salisbury, Miss Orpha and Coe Deal, Miss Arleen Meudeuhall and Miss Leon Crooks. One of the most enjoyable social affairs of the week was held at Kelly's Grove Saturday evening by the members of the oust of the Prince of Artland" Kiwanis opera. The guests who numbered nearly fifty motored to the grove early iu the eveuiug, where a musical program pro-gram and a number of games were enjoyed. Later a delicious 'picnic lunch around a large bonfire was served while all members enjoyed a social chat. It was also decided by those present that a Civic Oiiera company should be formed, the details de-tails of which will be worked out later. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Black were guests Saturday evening at a family dinner party given by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Holdaway at Provo in compliment com-pliment to their twin son and daughter. daugh-ter. The officers and teachers of the Third ward Sunday school motored to Kelly's grove Friday evening, where a delightful time was spent roasting "weinies" nnd playing games. Also a delicious picnic lunch was served and social chat enjoyed by all. Mrs. Frank 'Boss, who is vistlng here from Los Angeles, accompanied accompan-ied Mrs. Fred Hansen to Salt Lake Wednesday, where they visited ing winning high score prizes and l'earl Gore and Ida Packard the consolations. At the conclusion of the games the election of officers and new members for next school year took place as follows: President, Presi-dent, Theo Biding; Vice President, Louise Mendenhall; Secretary and Treasurer, Ida Packard; reporter, Donna Dillingham. New members include: Inez Starr, Lucile Crandall, Cran-dall, Helen Packard, Josephine Reynolds, Rey-nolds, Laura Clegg, Captola Cher-rington, Cher-rington, and Tess Childs. Old members mem-bers who were present were Marie Jensen, Emma Lee, Louise Mendenhall Men-denhall or Mapleton, Vera Charter, Donna Dilingham, Vera Packard, Helen Hughes, Viola Musig, Theo Riding, Ida Packard, Weltha Spaf-ford Spaf-ford and Pearl Gore. Miss liuby Jensen of Ephraim is sending this week as the guest of Mrs. Florence Thillips. Miss Jensen has a number of friends and acquaintances here, having taught ch)Ol at the JMferson for two years. Mrs. Marie Ulark Miller, dramatic dra-matic art teacher of Des Moines, Iowa, arrived in this city recently to spend the summer months with her parents Mr. and Mrs. James M. Clark. Henry W. Miller, her husband, hus-band, formerly of St. George is a chemical engineer, and is superintendent superin-tendent of the Armond factory at Des Moines. Friends of Scott B. Price, who attended school in this city, will be interested lo hear of his marriage to Miss Clara Hannah Halverson of Spanish Fork, Wednesday. Brinton by the members of the Alpha Beta club in compliment compli-ment to Mrs. S. C. "Whittiicker, retiring re-tiring president. This social outing out-ing marked the close of the meeting meet-ing of the club for this season and i's a token of appreciation from uK'iiiliers of the club Mrs. Whit-tucker Whit-tucker was presented w-ith two silver sil-ver bud vases. At the conclusion of the program luncheon was served to eighteen members. The' affair was given in honor of Miss Dorothy Daven port and Inez Lee, who will leave soon for their homes in Washington, and Park City. After the swim n delicious picnic lunch was served. Reynolds entertained about twenty little guests, in compliment to her son Mark Albert, whose birth day occurred that day.
