Games, and stories around a large bonfire bon-fire were also enjoyed. Those included in-cluded in the party were: Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Harmer and family, Ace Johnson of Spanish Fork, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Reed, Miss Gwen Martin, Mar-tin, Mr. and Mrs. Neill Ogden, Mrs. Amy Donaldson, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Martin, Mr. and Mrs. John K. Johnson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Neill Hood, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Arn-old Meacham, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Arn-old Rasmussen and Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds Harmer. The Provo Third ward Primary officers and teachers entertained at a party Friday afternoon for Mrs. Melba Perry of Springville who formerly taught in that ward. Sewing and social chat, also dainty refreshments were enjoyed by the following ladies present: Mrs. Pearl Olson, Hannah Miller, Mrs. Clara Meldrum, Mrs. Irene Thayne, Mrs. Anna Pierpont, Mrs. Hazel Clark, Mrs. Florence Clark, Mrs. Edith Powell, Mrs. Hoover, Mrs. May Smith. Mrs. Ina Kirk, Mrs. Larsen, Mrs. Orpha Smith, Mrs. Chase and Mrs. J. M. Brown. Mr. and Mrs. Will Phillips and son Billie and Miss Ruby Jensen of Ephraim enjoyed lunch and a motor trip to Spanish Fork canyon Friday evening. Mrs. A. W. Harmer, Miss F.liza-j F.liza-j beth Harmer, Mrs. Alio Cluff, Mrs. Haroldine Rasmussen, and Mrs. Reynolds Harmer were guests , at a prettily appointed dinner given i' by Miss Alice Reynolds at her apartment in Provo Friday evening. The members of the second ward Bee-hive class met Tuesday even-I even-I ing at the home of Miss Lucille Henrie. Earl Hutchings was present pres-ent and gave an especially interesting inter-esting talk on the South African mission. He told of the manners and customs of the people he visited visit-ed on his recent trip around the world and showed many pretty souvenirs from different countries. Refreshments were then served to the following members and guests: Mrs. C. O. Claudin, instructor. Miss Wanda Stewart, Miss Merlyn Strong. Miss Mary Simpkms, Miss LaVera Hardy, Miss Donna Snel-son. A pleasant afternoon was spent Friday when Mrs. Delphia Brown of this citv entertained the ladies of the A. of N. R. club at her home. Games, sewing, and music were enjoyable features of the afternoon, after-noon, also a dainty luncheon was ; served by the hostess to the follow- j ing club members. Among the pleasant social affairs of the late week was the party given Thursday evening by Mrs. i Will Phillips at her home in com- pliment to Miss Ruby Jensen of Ephraim. Progressive "500" was I the feature of entertainment, three tables for the game being arranged. High score prize was awarded to Mrs. Bailey Hughes Hughes of1 Los Angeles. Other guests includ-; ed Mrs. Emma Kennedy, Mrs. Ed Jahnson, Mrs. Ida Bird, Mrs. Hazel ; Harrison. Miss Cleo Pierce, Mrs. Ora Rowland, Mrs. Ella Crandall, Mrs. Lee Sumsion. Mrs. Lewis Clegg, and Mrs. Bert Rowland. Dainty refreshments were served by the hostess. The marriage of Miss Ann Burt and Dean Stewart both of this if" took place Wednesday in the Salt Lake temple. Friday a reception in their honor was given by Mr. and Mrs. John D. Childs at their home. The living rooms were decorated dec-orated with a profusion of cut flowers and potted plants. The bride wore a pretty wedding gown bf peach georgette and cream silk lace. Her bridal bouquet was of orchids and lilies of the valley. During the evening a splendid program pro-gram was given after which dancing danc-ing was enjoyed. A dainty luncheon lunch-eon was served to the friends and relatives assembled. Mr. and Mrs. Will Phillips and son Billy, Miss Ruby Jensen. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Phillips and family Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Phillips and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Lambson and daughter of Helper formed the party and motored to Provonna Beach Saturday evening, where a delicious picnic lunch and boat riding rid-ing were enjoyed. In compliment to Miss Velma Sanderson a bride of this week. Mrs. Harvey Blackett entertained at a miscellaneous shower at her home Saturday evening. Summer flowers were used in the decorative decora-tive scheme and games were enjoyable en-joyable features of amusement. Dainty refreshments were served bv the hostess to the following lady friends and relatives Mrs. Rhea Holt. Mrs. Alta Holt, Mrs. Edna Holt of Spanish Fork. Mrs. Ellen Crandall, Mrs. Hattie Johnson. Mrs. Reed Bird Mrs. Sarah Palfreyman, and Mrs. Edna Blackett. C. i this city took place last Wednesday in the Salt Lake temple. In the evening a large reception was gixen in their honor at the Cleire horn1 The living rooms were decorated with summer flowers. The bride wore a dainty gown of ivory satin and duchess lace with a long tulle veil held in place with a garland of orange blossoms and pearls. Sh" carried a shower of bride roses an lilies of the valley. Mrs. A. C. i Bird assisted in the receiving line, with a number of Salt Lake ladies. Mrs. Margaret Grooms asisted in the dining room. Will Grooms was best man. Dr. and Mrs. Bird left ! Thursday for Canada and Yellow- stone National park, where they j will spend their honeymoon, and will be at home in Los Angeles 't July 15. |
