Mrs. Gertrude Sunision, Mrs. Flora MeKen.io and Mrs. Sadie Pate were dinner guests Friday at Mrs. Pates sister's home in Provo. The committee on arrangements from the S. T. club will meet Wednesday Wed-nesday at the home of Mrs. Lewis Clegg to plan a Hallowe'en party to be given in compliment to the husbands Saturday evening October Oc-tober 29 . Mrs. Leola Fwing and daughter returned to their home in Spring-ville Spring-ville this week after several weeks stay in Idaho. Miss Sarah Hill entertained a number of girl friends at her home Sunday evening, the occasion being her birthday. Social chnt and music mu-sic were enjoyed. A pleasant time was spent Thursday Thurs-day evening by members of the S. I T. club when they were entertained entertain-ed at the home of Mrs. Harry Pen- Inington. The season's flowers were used as decorations. During the" game of auction bridge which was the form of entertainment during the evening, Mrs. (1. D. Kennedy won high score prize. Brown spent the past week in Salt Lake with her daughter daugh-ter and family, Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Hoyle. The officers and teachers of the Fourth ward Primary association met Friday evening at a social at the home of Mrs. Norris Averett, in compliment to Mrs. Tom Averett. Aver-ett. Games, social chat and dainty refreshments were served to about sixteen guests. Mrs. II. McDougall, accompanied by her daughter Catherine R. Dou-gall, Dou-gall, attended the opera "Maryland, My Maryland." Miss Dougall remained re-mained during the week end with friends. j Members of the Los Amego I Card club will meet Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Ford , Crandall. The members of the Boosters' club, local high school organization, organiza-tion, entertained at a shower and social at the home of Miss Florence , Daley in compliment to three former for-mer members who -were recently married. They were Miss Pearl Gore, Wcaltha Spafford and Gwen Zabriskie. Fall flowers were used in decorating the entertaining rooms. Music, games hrid social chat were enjoyed. Packard, Mrs. S. C. Whittaker, Mrs. E. FJ. Knudsen and Miss Lavieve Huish. Idward Boy or, son of Mr. antl Mrs. John S. Boyer, Jr., and Reed Rigtrup, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Rigtrup of this city, were chosen chos-en as winners in the boys 4-H club demons t rat ions at the Utah state fair Wednesday. Those boys, with the winners of the girls' club, will represent Utah clubs at the interstate inter-state meet to be held at Portland, Oregon, October 29 to November 5. A pleasant social affair of the week end was the party .given by the old members of the Second ward Junior M. I. A. class in compliment com-pliment to the girls just entering the class this year. Autumn flowers were arranged about the entertaining entertain-ing rooms. A number of unique games were played and the new members initiated into the class. Dainty refreshments were served to about twenty five including teachers, old members, and the following new members: Virginia Simpkins, -Helen Fox, Mabellc Wheeler, Ila Stevenson, . Corriene Robertson, Flora Martin, Thelma Nelson, Miss Hoffman, Florence Bringhurst, Rowena Hutchings, Pearl Strong. The entertainment was given at the home of Miss Mary Boyer. Members of the Home Culture club of this city are asked to be present at the meeting to be held tomorrow afternoon at the home of Mrs Sarah Houtz. The members of the Kensington club of the Community church met Thursday afternoon at the homo of Mrs. A. E. Blanchard. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Shepherd of Mammoth, Utah, came to Spring-vine Spring-vine Saturday Mr. Shepherd was working at the Mammoth mine at the time of the fire. Members of the Social Twelve Card club will meet Thursday at the home of Mrs. Lee Sumsion. All members are aslced to be present. Reverend and Mrs. S. Hall Barrett Bar-rett Jr. and baby accompanied by Mrs. Barrett's father, Joseph Pan-returned Pan-returned to their home last week after an enjoyable trip to Long Beach, California. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Sumsion with Mrs Lydia Sumsion and daughter Nell motored to Chester, Utah, Sunday Sun-day where they were guests of Mr. an 1 Mrs. George Sumsion. Elliott Bird who is surveying near Parowan, Utah, spent two days of this week with his family here. They were dinner guests Sunday at the home of Mr and Mrs. H. W. Miller in Salt Lake. Miss Rena Bird who is a practice prac-tice nurse at the L. D. S. hospital accompanied her parents Bishop and Mrs. J. Emmett Bird home from Salt Lake Saturday and spent two days ,with her parents here. Mrs. D. P. Brinton returned to her home this week after spending several weeks with her son Frank and daughter, Orissa Brinton at San Francisco. The entertaining rooms were decorated with autumn flowers. Games and music furnished entertainment during the evening during which delicious refreshments were served to sixleen guests. The honor guest was the recipient of a beautiful picee of silver presented to her! hy the officers and teachers. At tiie meet ing of the Mother's Study club to be held tomorrow at the homo of M rs. John Burt, a splendid musical program will be given. K. L. Faux, high school music director will give the life and work of the famous musician Chopin. He will also render a number num-ber of selections by the same author. All members are asked to be present. Abner Thorn left Wednesday morning for Los Angeles where he j will spend several weeks with his daughter Mrs. H. G. West and family and other relatives there. A dancing party will be given by the of icers and teachers of the Third ward Primary association Monday afternoon and evening in the Third ward amusement hall. In the afternoon dancing will begin at 3 o'clock and at 7 o'clock in the ! evening. Another feature of entertainment enter-tainment will be a fish pond. All , children are invited to be present, j Mrs. Florence Hills of this city pleasantly entertained a number of relatives at her home Sunday. The afternoon was spent with music and social chat.
