Show In The Social Realm Mrs. Manilla Brown Reporter, Phone 146 l Mrs. Augusta Krdninn recently returned to her home in this city after an extended trip to Seattle and Portland, Wash. During her stay she also visited a sister-in-law nt Cedrowolley, whom she had not seen for forty years. Most of the time, however, was spent with her son at Seattle. Mr. and Mrs. Will Phillips, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Ida Bird andt Mrs. Ella Harrington, spent Tuesday Tues-day in Salt Lake on business, and as guests of Miss Alice Simpkins. Guests at the James Simpkins home Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. .John G. Armstrong and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Armstrong of Salt Lake. The Daughters of the Pioneers, Camp No. II, will meet Thursday, October 13, at the home of Mrs. Kllen McKenzie. Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Baker entertained enter-tained at dinner Sunday in comp'i-ment comp'i-ment to Mrs. Baker's sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. II. C. Aylett of Midvale. Mrs. .Tack Kobinson of Provo, formerly for-merly Elsie Harker, is spending a few days with her parents here, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Darker. Mrs. F. II. Miss Marion Miner entertained a number of friends' at her home Saturday Sat-urday evening. The party attended Hie show in the early evening, after whicli, they assembled at the Miner home,, where music and games were enjoyed. Mrs. Robert Rodgers nnd two children of South Dakota, who for several weeks have lieen at the home of Mrs. Rodgers' mother Mrs. J. W . v'ropbeck, received word ' from her husband that he will, be here soon and that they will mako their home in Salt Lake. The members of the Second ward Relief Society held their 'opening social Thursday, afternoon in the. ward- hall. A splendid program consisting of a reading by Mrs. William Wainwright; story, Mrs. Hannah Davis; piano solo, Mrs. Blanch Hales ; instrumental duet. Bell Crandall and Will Parry: piano solo, Mrs. M. E. Crandall : vocal duet, Mrs. Selvoy Boyer nud Mrs. Mae Smith; also a clever stimt directed by Mrs. Earl" Sumsion. At the conclusion of the program dainty refreshments were served to a large crowd of members and guests. Mr. and Mrs. A. C Miner and son Verl of Provo were guests Monday Mon-day evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Miner. The son has just been released from the navy after serving three years. One of the most charming wedding wed-ding receptions and dances of this season was given in the Mapleton amusement hall. Monday evening by A. II. Spafford of this city in compliment to his daughter, Wea'-tha. Wea'-tha. who was married to Wendell Mendenhall, son of Bishop and Mrs. It. L. Mendenhall of Mapleton, September Sep-tember IM) in the Salt Lake temple. The hall was artistically decorated with a profusion of autumn flowers in various shades. The bride looked look-ed charming in a gown of green crepe. A splendid program was given, and dancing was enjoyed, nviiisic being furnished by the Mur-' Mur-' dock orchestra of Provo. Dainty refreshments were served to over 1 20 relatives and friends. The honor 'guests were recipients of many beautiful nnd useful gifts from those present.
