Show Girl Scouts now on encampment Hundreds of Girl Scquts and non Scouts from all over the state are participating at the three established camps of the Utah Girl Scout Council. Camp Red Cliffe in Ogden Canyon, under the direction of Miss Kay Dean of Ogden, opened op-ened June 24 for the first of four 12-day sessions. Camp Cloud Rim near Park City, under the direction of Miss Jeanne Sweet of Nyack, New York, also opened June 24 for the first of four 12-day sessions. Trefoil Ranch in Provo Canyon, Can-yon, under the direction of Miss Joyce Whitney of Salt Lake City, began June 24 and will have two 12-day sessions and three 6-day sessions. All three camps will include learning to live in the out-of-doors, and participation in campfire programs, hiking, archery, ar-chery, singing, folk dancing, dramatics, nature craft and cook outs. In addition to the regularly conducted program, Trefoil will feature horseback riding; Red Cliffe, swimming in the new camp pool; and Cloud Rim, boating on Lake Brimhall. In addition to the "outdoor" activities, one very special event occurs at meal time. Excellent food combined with wonderful company and followed fol-lowed by "Kapers" put a finishing fin-ishing touch to the campers' experience. |
