Show 88th birthday marked by family dinner Mrs. Alice Ann Brindley Waters, a former long-time resident of Mapleton and Springville, now living in Provo, Pro-vo, was guest of honor at a dinner party for family members, mem-bers, marking her 88th birthday birth-day Sunday, at the home of a granddaughter, Mrs. Keith Davis Da-vis in Springville. The party was a surprise for Mrs. Waters and guests included in-cluded her two sons, Carrell Waters and Howard Waters and their wives and families, Rulon Waters, Provo; Mr. and Mrs. John Geisser and son, Mr. and Mrs. Lou Fish and daughter, daugh-ter, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Wa- f . Mrs. Waters was born in Oneida, Idaho, Sept. 9, 1875. She resided for a time in southern Utah and attended Snow College. She has always been active in LDS Church work, serving in the Sunday School, MIA and Relief Society. Soci-ety. She also did considerable home nursing. Besides her two sons, she has seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Mrs. Mary K. Schwartz and her sister, Mrs. Fred (Lucy) Johnson of Eureka, have returned re-turned home from Great Bar-rington, Bar-rington, Mass., where they attended at-tended the wedding of Mrs. Schwartz's son Thomas L. and Susan Aldrich Grube, of Hillsdale, Hills-dale, New York. They made the trip by plane. Also attending attend-ing the wedding from Utah, was Tom's friend, Mark Hoover Hoov-er of Syracuse, N. Y., who is employed with General Electric. The first man to fly an airplane air-plane over both the North and South Poles was Admiral Richard Rich-ard E. Byrd. |
