Mrs. Allan spent ten days in San Francisco Fran-cisco with her sister, Mrs. Mildred Stanley and Mr. Allan accompanied by his brothei Warner and his wife Susie Allan Al-lan of Springville joined her there. They all attended the wedding reception of a nephew Robert Allan, son of Mr. and are getting acquainted with the new baby son of .her daughter daugh-ter Gay and her husband. Mr. and Mrs. Bryce Anderson Ander-son are enjoying a visit from her mother, Mrs. Averett from Richfield. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Wilson Wil-son and daughter Jerry Lou of Brigham City, spent Memorial Memo-rial Day in Mapleton visiting with her father, Horace Perry and with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Jones and family who are leaving leav-ing for Landers, Wyoming. Mr. and Mrs. Gene E. Frisby and family were in Spanish Fork to attend the funeral services of her father Morgan R. Martell held in the Spanish Fork Fifth-Eighth Ward Friday. Fri-day. Cub Scouts of the Mapleton Second Ward held a "Pine-wood "Pine-wood Derby" Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Taylor. Grand prize winner was Dennis Westwood, who received a baseball as prize. Wesley Walker and Ronald Jensen received re-ceived merit badges. i Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hjorth entertained at their home following fol-lowing graduation exercises for their son Terry and a group of his friends. Mrs. Fred Allan. They also visited vi-sited with the Kenneth Allans and with Mr. and Mrs. Lavell Allan at Oreville before going north to Seattle where they enjoyed a tour of the World's Fair. While in Seattle they visited with Jesse Whiting and his family, returning home by way of Idaho. Robert Allan and his new bride came here on their honeymoon honey-moon where a family dinner was given in their honor at the home of a cousin Margene Crandall, (Mrs. Nate Crandall) of Springville. Mrs, Viola Allan Al-lan was also an honored guest, the occasion being her 85th birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Grange participated in the Friendship Cruise on the Green River last weekend. In company with Mr. and Mrs. Don Robertson of Springville they joined the motor mo-tor boat cavalcade at Green River and traveled the one hundred and ninety six miles to Moab, Utah, joining in the planned festivities there. ' Garth Finlinson, who has been attending school at the BYU the past school year, is spending a week visiting with his sister Mrs. Lee Shipley and family, prior to returning to his home in Oak City for the summer months. Miss Barbara Allan is spending spend-ing the summer months at the home of her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Allan after teaching school at Sunset, which is near Ogden. Barbara has been making mak-ing her home in Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Waldon Hurst and their son Craig, accompanied accompan-ied by their daughter Margene Gottfredson and two young daughters spent Memorial Day in Richfield and Elsinore where they visited with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Bernell Binks and family spent Memorial day visiting with his mother, Mrs. Hannah Binks. Mrs. L. A. Nielson has recently re-cently returned from an interesting inter-esting two weeks in California where she visited with her daughter, Mrs. Dorthy Sample and her family in Riverside and with Mrs. Louise Hilde-brande Hilde-brande and family in Los Angeles. An-geles. Since her return home she has been host to her daughter Mrs. Lois Peterson and her children Mark and Roberta who make their home in Sanford, Colorado. Mrs. Peterson was also accompanied by her daughter, Mrs. Janice Morgan and two children, also from Sanford. Weekend visitors at the Preston Hooper home have been Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hooper and two children, Miss Nancy Empey of Ogden and Mrs. Jolene Kogianes of Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gividen have recently returned from a trip to the World's Fair in Seattle. On the way they visited visit-ed with Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Larson and family at Jerome. Idaho and with friends in Oregon. Ore-gon. They enjoyed the fair and on the return trip they called on the Jack Booths, former neighbors, who live at Post Falls, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Gividen have had several visitors since their return. Spending three days with them has been Mr. and Mrs. Don Roberts from Texas who are planning on attending school at the BYU this fall. Miss Jean Phillips, a BYU student spent a week with them prior to returning home for the summer. The children of Kathleen Nelson, Nel-son, Georgine Prince and Rhea Williams stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gividen while they visited in Southern California with their brother Bert and his family. MORE MAPLETON Sks Enjoying a vacation trip to Southern California is Mrs. Blaine Williams where she is a guest of her brother Bert and his family. Mr. Ralph Gren is home after attending the funeral services of his brother in Riverside, California. Mrs. Reed Bennett and son Myron are spending several weeks in Georgia, where they |
