Show C 0. Claudin paid respects at Toes, services Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Springville Third-Ninth ward church for Charles Orval (C. O.) Claudin, Clau-din, 61, well known Central Utah Mortician and Real Estate Es-tate man. Mr. Claudin died Friday in the Payson hospital following a stroke he suffered in Phoenix, Phoe-nix, Ariz., Dec. 12 while there on business. Bishop Calvin Packard of the Third ward officiated. Burial was in th Evergreen Cemetery directe by the Claudin-Linde Mortuary. Mortu-ary. Born Nov. 1, 1900, at Remington, Rem-ington, Indiana, he was the son of William Albert and Mary Barnhart Claudin. He came to Springville in 1923, at which time he began operation op-eration of the Claudin Funeral Home here. In 1924 he established estab-lished a mortuary at Spanish Fork, and in 1933 he opened another, at Provo, which he operated until 1951, During World War H he served as a major in the Civil Air Patrol unit at Provo, a post in which he continued un- i it i I If C. He was noted in Utah as a raiser and breeder of prize winning American Saddle horses. hor-ses. For the past two years he had been actively engaged in the real estate business, having been associated with the Springville Insurance and Realty Co. He was a member of the BPO Elks Lodge of Provo, the Utah County Real Estate Association and the American Saddle Horse Breeders Breed-ers Association. He was married to Ruby Anderson, An-derson, Sept 1, 1923 at Long Beach, California. They received re-ceived their endowments in the Salt Lake Temple in 1924. He was an active member of the Elders quorum of the Third ward. Surviving are his wife and one son William Claudin, Springville; two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Pauline) Linde, Spanish Fork, Mrs. James (Maxcene) LeSueur, Phoenix, Ariz., and nine grandchildren. Also surviving are his mother, Mary Claudin, Twin Falls, Ida.; two brothers, Bert Claudin of Champaign, 111., and Ernest Claudin, Chicago, 111., 4 sisters, Mabel Potter, Twin Falls, Ida., Mrs. Elvie (Pearl) Berr, Rod-gerson, Rod-gerson, Ida., Elsie Lykins, Port Hueneme, Calif., and Myrtle Mathews, Crannell, Calif. |
