Show University degrees go to brothers same time in far separated areas .v . - '"w I X I " - - - Graduation time this year has a special meaning for Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Wingate, with their two sons receiving degrees. de-grees. Captain J. Allan Wingate stationed with the third Infantry In-fantry at Weuritzburg, Germany Ger-many for over three years, received re-ceived a Bachelor of Arts degree de-gree from the University of Maryland branch . at Heidelberg, Heidel-berg, Germany. A graduate of Springville high school in 1945 and former student of the University of Colorado and Westminster College, Col-lege, Captain Wingate majored in history and political science, completing study for his degree de-gree in night classes and extension exten-sion work. He has been in the service about twelve years. His wife, the former Barbara Bar-bara Braun and four children the last one born since they went to Germany, expect to visit here on a furlough in July. Capt. J. Allan Wingate, stationed sta-tioned with Third Infantry in Germany, has received B. A. from University of Maryland branch at Heidelberg. r i I I Wins masters F. Huston Wingate, the younger of the two, received his Master of Science degree from the University of Utah, in graduation exercises Monday. Mon-day. He has accepted a position posi-tion with the Standard Oil Company in the Exploration division in Oaklahoma City, Okla. He and his wife, the former lone Lammon of Grand Rapids, Minn., left Tuesday morning, and will spend a week with her parents and other relatives in Grand Rapids, before leaving for their new home. Huston is a, 1951 graduate of Springville high school and received a B. S. Degree from the University of Utah in 1956. He served three years in the U. S. Air Force as a jet fighter pilot and at the time of discharge held the rank of first lieutenant. . He - is -.-.affiliated , with the American Association of Petroleum Pet-roleum Geoglogists. Civil Defense meet Another in a series of Civil Defense meetings will be held next Wednesday, June 14, at 2 p.m., at the Junior high school. County civil defense authorities will speak and show movies at the meeting to which the public is urged to attend. F. Huston Wingate has accepted ac-cepted position with oil company com-pany after receiving Masters from University of Utah. |
