' .-:. , S ' iff- 1 ;: -J. t i Karen Oldroyd, who has been selected one of five highest in Utah in the Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow contest SHS Girl Wins State Honors In Homemaking A Springville high school senior, Karen Oldroyd, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Roland Oldroyd, 777 Brookside Dr., is among the five highest rating girls in the state of Utah in the Betty Crocker homemaker of tomorrow contest, according to information received at the hisrh school this week. Miss Oldroyd won the high school contest after taking a three-haur written examination sponsored, by General Mills, and this week was judged one of the five highest in the state. From the five state winners, two will be selected for the $1500 and $500 Betty Crocker scholarship. State winner will compete for a national scholarship. scholar-ship. Character and reputation is taken into consideration by the judges who are now going over the final examination papers and other material to select the winners. In addition to scholarships given to the individual girls, the school which they represent repre-sent is also given prizes. |
